Happy New Year !

After a busy and successful Christmas season, we would like to thank all those groups and individuals who generously donated all the many needed items for our many clients living both in and out of the shelter. The people from Alberni Toyota were awesome. They came with 4/5 loaded vehicles of donations for us. They included blankets, clothing, toiletries and food. Any cash donations that came in for us, they bought meat. They were very generous with us. The Battle Axe Warriors came to the shelter and spent several hours bringing in donations and helping to sort them out. The Rotary Club came with 40 wrapped packaged gifts for our clients and their generosity was overwhelming as well. Last but not least, the students from John Howitt School came with piles and piles of gift bags for men women and children. The kids handed them out to the clients and it was so heart warming to see all the work and effort that went into the hand painted bags and beautiful cards they made. They were also busy baking cut-out sugar cookies and everyone got a package of cookies.  We are so grateful for all the individuals and groups who so generously thought about us and made Christmas at the shelter and for all of our clients so very special. Huge smiles were put on many faces and made a significant difference for the ones where Christmas is otherwise a very difficult time. We could not do as much as we do without the help of others.

We wish for a happy, healthy, prosperous and successful New Year to everyone!

Shelter Duplex

The families we have living in our duplex have settled in nicely and are doing well. They are coming up on their one year anniversary already. We wish them continued success.

Shelter Assessment/New Shelter

We have recently undergone a hazardous materials assessment and are awaiting the results. This is to determine whether the facility can be feasibly utilized in the future. In the meantime, our architect is continuing to work on the design of a new shelter with a vision of benefitting the entire community. Keep checking our website and Facebook page for updates.
